Makar Tereshin is a social anthropologist and documentary photographer. He is a PhD candidate at University College London, where he is part
of the ETHNO-ISS project. The research team is undertaking an ethnography of the International Space Station and its terrestrial participants. Makar’s research interests lie in material culture studies, environmental and visual anthropology with a particular ethnographic focus on Russia and Kazakhstan. Currently, he is working on a project exploring the political ecology of the Russian space programme in Central Kazakhstan. Makar’s research is supported by the London Arts and Humanities Partnership.
