Dr. Anton Valkovsky is an independent curator, cultural project manager, and researcher with a PhD. His curatorial approach encompasses working with challenging heritage and contemporary art, leveraging these as tools for cultural diplomacy, "soft power," and peacebuilding. He also utilizes public art and socially engaged art to drive social and urban transformation. Dr. Valkovsky specializes in developing participatory approaches in socio-cultural and museum design and is deeply involved in researching and conceptualizing regional artistic processes in Southern Russia and the North Caucasus.
In 2018-2019, Dr. Valkovsky served as a guest researcher and curator at the Center for Art and Urbanistics (ZK/U) in Berlin. He has been recognized as a nominee for the Contemporary Art Award "Innovation" in 2021 and the Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award in 2022.
